Sun day school, reportsi a full house at their Easter services in Ver nonia, with many friends driving over from Hillsboro. State Pres- Brother Bringhurst and hi9 wife of Portland were here and the services were carried out smooth ly and instructively from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with intermission for a noon day meal. Elder Genzer entertained wtih special music. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. McGee spent an enjoyable Easter with their daughter, Mrs. Herbert Fish er, and family at Scholls. Thursday afternoon callers at the Herman Wood home were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Robertson of Portland.. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hawkins and sons were in St. Helens Wednes day for a visit with her sister, Mrs. Robert Moore and husband. Mrs. Moore was ill and was taken to the Emanuel hospital in Port land for treatment and observa tion Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bond drove to Raymond, Wash., Saturday to spend Easter with Mrs. Bond’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mo thershed. Mrs. Mothershed re turned with the Bonds Sunday eve ning. Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Hawkins of Camp McGregor are redecorat ing some rooms foi their occu pancy in the Austin apartments in Vernonia and hope to get lo cated this week. • Club Carries Out Idea For Shower by Mail; Line Work Prosressing RIVERVIEW — An idea fos- tered and carried out to comple tion by the Friendiy club gave much happiness to one of their number the past week. The ar rival of each mali at her home brought an Easter greeting or a hankie or both to Mrs. Ralph Mahar until she had a wonderful assortment of both and all mem bers of the club were represented. Mrs. Mahar appreciated her shower very much. The Ralph McKee family had their Easter dinner at the Happy Wells home near Mist although all had suffered from flu during the past week and Mr. tylcKee was suffering from near pleurisj on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Steele and Mrs. W. D. teele motored to Dal las Good Friday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. William Es- senberger. Mr. Essenberger is a brother of rMs. W. D. Steele. Mrs. Gerald Ball and daugh ter Vicki Ann, came Tuesday from their California home to the parental Ralph Mahar home here and plan to stay until the middle of May. Mrs. Louis Schroeder motored to Portand Thursday forenoon to pick up Jimmy Sozoff, a fifth grader, who was on his way home from Salem to spend his Easter Vacation with his parents here. The REA line crew are placing cross arms and stringing wires in Riverview this week. Mrs. Anna Parker dined Easter with her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Gill, and family in Vernonia. The Circle was to have met at the home of Mrs. Walter Mathews, but owing to the illness of Mr. Mathews, who is confined in the Emanuel hospital, plans were changed and Mrs. Sundland entertained instead. Mr. Mathews fell some time ago and broke his shoulder and a piece of bone had to be removed. Mr. and Mrs. • Don Hall were here from Glenoma Wash., one day during the past week.
