One is a lumber industry program of net on al advertising and educa tion cn the enduring va’ues cf wood and on the pe/manence of West C ast forests and their in dustries. The other is a fed eral bureaucracy program that proclaims an early end for the private enterp ise forests of th s regi n and thei • industries, and advocates a Marxist system of control over the big timber and the loggers. The fir t program r^pres'-nts faith in a forest future in which private en’erprise will be re:pon- sible for the major pait of forest management in this region. This faith is backed by practical men who have prepared to spend money on a long-range project of merchandising their product., thro.gh educational advertising.
