Lamping Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Hartwick and son, Bernard, who was re cently dis:harged from the ser vice, left Monday for Astoria for a short vacation. They planned to return today. were here at the homo of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Norris, Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Hartwick moved to their heme at Banks Monday cf last week. The Jacobs Jewelry store at Clatskanie suffered damage re cently due to fire which started in a nearby building. Amount of the damage was not known. Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs formerly resid ed here where he carried on a small repair business in his home and where both are well known. Mrs. Virgil Moore of Portland returned to her heme last Thurs day after spending several days at the R. B. Fletcher home. Mrs. Moore is M s. Fletcher’s mother. Mrs. Judd Greenman spent Monday and Tuesday in Port land with her daughter and sen in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burrow, while Mr. GTeenman was in Seattle on business. Mrs. Bays also visited her daughter, Mrs. P. L. Hewes, in Portland for a part of last week. and Mr. Mrs. Ghssner J'hn were here the first part of this week on b. s ness and also vis ited at the home cf Mr. and Mrs. Lew Fba'.en. They returned to their home at Albany by way of Portland. Mrs. Orville re Makin’tcr turned to her home here last Sunday after undergoing an oper ation at the Portland General hospital a short time ago. The trip home was made in the Bush ambulance. Here to spend Saturday and Sunday ef last week end were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gardener of Portland. They visited at the Carl Davis kc.me.
