Thursday, Jan. 10, 1946 VERNONIA EAGLE 4 Operation on Foot Completed RIVERVIEW — Art Owen< entered the Emanuel hospital in Portland Dec. 27th and had an operation on the foot he sprained last summer, on the following day. A false growth of cartil age had to be removed. Mrs. Owens was in Portland most of last week to be with him and -will go lin again Sat. and stay until he is released. Her mother, Mrs. C. C. Cooke of Camp Mc- is in charge of the Gregor Owens’ home at present. Bobby McMullin left Mon. for Moscow, Idaho where he has secured a permanent job in a garage. Pvt. L. M. Lindsley left Dec. 27th for San D^ego to rejoin the marine corps and await further orders. Sundland and Bernard Dowling are wiring the house, of Max O’Black, formerly owned by Dave McMullen, at Natal this week. Fred Siegenthaler is in Port land for medical treatment and care. Don’t forget the Mist Helping Circle meets at Mrs. Knowles’ home the 4 th Thurs. of this month. Mrs. Wm. Bridgers and Mrs. Irving Knowles went to the Rose City Sun. The Willard Garlock family were Sun. eve. callers at the W. and Ray Garlock home. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Roper spent Sun. in Astoria with the Rus sell family.
