Enstrom had as Christmas eve and Christ- mas day guests their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Steiner and girls, LaVelle and Peggy, from Longview, Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Carlson of Riverview were Christ mas dinner guests also at the En- strom home. Mi** Joanne arrived Nichols here last Friday to spend the hol- days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Nichols. She left Thursday to return to San Fran cisco where she is employed by the San Francisco Chronicle in public relations and radio work. While there they will attend the funeral of a nephew. Mr. and i Mrs. Taylor were visited by ■ Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Chorpening of Treharne on Christmas day. That day, Tues- day, was 42 years after the first time the Taylors and Chor- penings first dined together at Eugene. Also the Chorpenings were the first dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor after they were married. Mr. Taylor and Mr. Chorpening were two of the three city mail carriers at Eugene at that time. Albert Bruns man arrived here Thursday from San Francisco to spend about 10 days visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Pete Brunsman. From here the visitors plan to leave for Can- ada and North Dakota where they will also visit. Albert Bruns man is a nephew of Pete Bruns- Pipes FROZEN? Mr. and Mrs. Harry Culbertson Mr. and Mr*. Holly Holcomb Jr. and daughter, Sue, spent the Christmas holiday week end visiting friends and relatives in St. Helens and Portland. Mrs. W. T. Ed Burton re. turned here the latter part of last week from California where they had been so that Mr. Burton could receive medical treatment for a leg injury he received dur ing the war. The hospital where he received treatment is located near San Francisco. Tom Bateman return will to his position at the pest office the first of thr, year after being ab- sent for over two years during which time he spent in the Sea- bees. Portland were here Christmas day and visited at the Sam Hear- ing Sr. home. Kellington end Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Sigle? and son, Allen, veteran of 42 months overseas with the 41st di vision, all of Hillsboro, were visitors last Sunday at the H. H. Frank home. Mr. Watts formerly in structed band here until 1941 when he and Mrs. Watts moved away. He is instructing band now at Jefferson, Oregon. and Mrs. Ed Salomonsen and Mr. and Mrs. James Davies and son, Craig, spent Christmas day at Warrenton at the home of Mr. Salomonsen’s mother, Accompanying them as far as Astoria were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tousley who spent the day visit ing with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ackerstadt.
