Charles Hoffman Lynn Michener is another and children of Spokane visited here with his mother, Mrs. Kate Hoffman from Friday evening to Sunday morning. the fortunate deer hunters who made his kill near here last Sun day. The ear was divided into seven ears at the tassel end while the stalk end was complete ly formed into one. The large number of ears at the tassel is very unusual. Tom Turner and Jack Nance at tended the Dad’s Day meeting in the morning then all went to the football game between Oregon State and Universty of Oregon in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. 0. Thomas of New port were visitors in Vernonia, Monday of this week. Mr. Armit age was the former owner of the Vernonia Drug store. Every day it seems like new faces appear in this community. The Drs. can’t seem to find out just what the ailment is. Mrs. Chas. Sundland and Mrs. Donald Sundland went to Port land recently to have little Shar on’s tonsils removed. L. P. Wickstrom came up from Myrtle Point Fri. eve. a week ago to see his family. Several ladies visited Mrs. C. Hanson Thurs. of last week. Some came all day, while others for the P.M. only. The occasion was her birthday. A beautiful glass roaster was presented her by the club members. She also had lots of other gifts besides. A delicious chicken dinner was served at noon. The Vernonia and Mist high school bus has been sold to Ver nonia parties, Donald Sundland making the sale last week. Authur Siegenthaler of the army is expected home in a couple of weeks. He has been overseas for some four years. The Mist Garage has changed hands. Willard Garlock has sold to Joe Checmonek, we are in formed.
