ST. HELENS — Walden Dil

requested
of Circuit
Court Judge Walter To-oze that
a special prosecutor be assigned
by the attorney general to direct
the prosecution of Caley A. Stan
wood, St. Helens real estate man,
on four indictments alleging em
bezzlement of funds entrusted to
him.
Judge Tooze approved the re
quest when no objection was en
tered by Mr. Stanwood’s cousel
and Oct. 1 was set as date of
trial.
The defendant was ar
raigned and entered a plea of
not guilty.
Mr. Dillard exlained to the
court that he was a long time
friend of the defendant and
wished to have the prosecution
directed by a disinterested per-
son in view of the reports that
bias might exist—which he said
was not the case.
