Thursday, June 28, 1945____ Vernonia Eagle 3 52 GIFTS IN ONE— AN EAGLE SUBSCRIPTION Sunday School Picnics Held RIVERVIEW — The Misses Martha Wells, Annabell Beebe and Betty Swanson left Sun. eve. for another week of camping and berry picking on the Grenger ranch on Green Mt. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cline, former residents and until very recently of Portland sent a letter to friends here this week that they sold their Portland property and were again in Gardena, Cal. where they have purchased a home and are working in the Missions. Their children, Kenneth Mary Jane and Barbara, are all working at good wages. Mrs. Cline is Supt. of the Sunday school there and very much in love with her work. Master Chas. McAdam went to Rainier this week to be with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. McAdam until after July 4th. TO OUR FRIENDS: Illness prevents us From mak ing any more appointments for the present. Mrs. Alessi and Mrs. Poole Visit Sister, Mrs. Jewell Lloyd RIVERVIEW — Bill Wilcoxen accompanied his Sun. school teacher, Rev. Allen Backer, and six of his classmates on a fishing and scouting trip to Silver Lake Wn. early Fri. morning. Being good fishermen, they enjoyed fish fries for two days and re turned Sat. eve. tired but happy, with enough fish to treat their parents to a point-free meal. Mrs. Jewel’, Lloyd drove to Forest Grove Sat. to meet her sister, Mrs. Robert Poole, who was returning from La. where she had spent six months with her husband who is in an army camp in that state. She was pleased to get Jiack to Ore. away from the terrific heat and cockroaches. Mrs. Kathleen Ale=si and infant daughter, Judy Ann, of San Jose, Calif, are also stopping at the home of Mrs. Alessi’s sister, Mr-.
