Class 3 slaughterers under the orders are farmers who slaughtered, or had slaughtered for them, livestock which they owned and from which they sold or gave away not more than 6,000 pounds of meat during any 12 mcnth per­ iod from Jan. 1, 1944 to Mar. 31, 1945. Affects of the order are: 1. After May 13, 1945 farm­ ers are not permitted to sell or give away meat resulting from the slaughter of livestock unless they have registered and been granted a Class 3 slaughterer’s permit by the local OPA board. 2. He will be limited in the amout of meat he nay sell or transfer during the next 12 months to 100 per cent of the dressed weight of meat that he sold or gave away during 1944. 4. He will not be restricted in the amount of livestock he may slaughter for consumption in his own household. 5. All livestock slaughter li­ censes and permits issued by the war food administration are re­ voked. Farmers in the Upper Nehalem Valley may register at the local board either in person or by mail, by giving certain required information on both copies of OPA form R-315. Further de­ tails in applying for permits may be obtained from the local board. VFW GETS $250 FROM SALE OF 2032 POPPIES M c M innville — in making an expression of thanks, Walnut City post 2507, VFW, this week revealed tha't $250 was realized from the sale cf buddy poppies last week end. A total of 2032 flowers were sold. Members of the post and its auxiliary stated that the entire amount will be devoted to giv­ ing aid, benefit and comfort to ex-service men and their depend­ ents.
