Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lindsay visited at the Dunlap home Sat. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Carmichael Vernonia Eagle and John were dinner guests of the M. B. Steers family Sun. Callers at the Max Oblack home Sun. eve. were Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Steers and family and John Carmichael. We are sorry to hear that Miriam Corll was rushed to an Astoria hospital Sat. eve. for an appendectomy. We hope she is doing fine and will soon be home Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lind say were out from Portland Sun. and visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lindsay. On their return they spent several days in Portland with Mr. Bino’s sis ter and family, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Bletch, and their son and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bino. Gloria Marshall, youngest sis ter of Mrs. A. M. Harkson, left Portland with 15 other girls Sun. for Hunters College N.Y. for 6 fHJ for weeks training, before going to Annapolis Md. Naval Hospital. Evelyn Wyatt, Vernonia, is em ployed as waitress at the Gil more Hotel. Events of Interest In Riverview Get Mention This Week RIVERVIEW—Mr. and Mrs. Ray McAdam and sons returned Sun. from Rainier where they had visited at the parental B. H. McAdam home. Dr. E. W. Coon, veterinarian of Forest Grove, made a profes sional call at the L. L. Welk home Fri. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Glenn and daughter, Donna, accompan ied by Delbert’s parents spent Sun. at the Geo. Bell home. Mrs. Riley Hall went to-For est Grove Mon. to visit her daughter, Mrs. Chester Reynolds in the general hospital there. Mrs. Reynolds underwent an ap pendectomy March 1 and is mak ing good recovery. Mrs. Hall was accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Jacobs of Vernonia. Wm. Taylor arrived Sat. eve. by bus from near Salem whers he worked in the woods. He has a badly sprained ankle and is now painfully getting around on crutches at his home in West Riverview. The Bell and Lynch families entertained Dist. Pres. Wright of the N.W. States Mission over the week end. Owing to poor health, Monty Dewey gave up his job in the woods and is now an O-A em ployee. Mrs. Art Owens was a Forest Grove visitor Sat. and laundry house with tubs.
