Mr. El lis accompanied them on their return and will visit Oregon City before his return. Miss Lorraine Mahar and her friend Joe Romaska of Portland spent Sunday at the Ralph Ma har home. Mrs. L. A. Billings and daugh ter Emmalene of Portland vis ited several days the past week at the W. D. Steele home. A bounteous two-fold birthday dinner was served in their home Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Archie Bean. The honor guests were Mr. Roy Brady, father of Mrs. Bean and Mr. Harry Bean, Archie’s father who added another year to their ages. S. Sgt. and Mrs. Leroy Jack Bean and daughter of San Diego were exceptionally welcome guests at this gathering. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Raff and three children and Mr. and Mrs. Asslan and daughter who came with Harry Bean from Kelso, Wash. Mr and Mrs. John Rosa and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brady and daughter Aretha" of Vernonia, Mary Jane Cline of Portland and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Deaney and daughter of Kcasey. Visiting and repeating pioneer stories and adventures with the feasting were enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. Gay and Mr. and Mrs. Cleone Woodruff of Port land spent Saturday night and Sunday at the Frank Mills home. A very beautiful wedding cer- mony was performed at the Trinity Baptist church in Port land when Miss Erma Kober- stein became the bride of Cyril Thompson, a coastguardsman, while on furlough. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Steele and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Steele attended this wed ding. The Kobersteins lived here for many years. This young couple are spending their honey moon in British Columbia.
