Any certificate hold er having difficulty in laying hands on a car is urged to write to OPA, Inventory and Control Branch, Empire State Bldg., New York, 1, N. Y. The records of that office will be made avail able to assist the buyer in locat ing an automobile. At the same time OPA will re quire all automobile dealers to post lists of their current inven tory of 1942 cars held for sale and dealers who refuse to 11 to a buyer who has the cash an ’, required papers may be barred from dealing in any cars ra tioned now or in the future. DECEMBER TIRE QUOTA INCREASED The December quota of new automobile tires allocated by the WPB will be 1,850,000 or 25J- 000 more than in November, it is announced by the OPA and WPB. “As near as we can tell, this quota should satisfy normal re placement needs of eligible B and C ration holders,” Max Mc Cullough, Deputy OPA rationing administrator said. PAPER SHORTAGE TO CONTINUE / The public can expect no re lief from existing paper short ages until about the middle of 1945 because of the heavy war time requirements of newsprint magazine and book paper and the manpower shortages in this industry the WPB repo’rts. BOX MATCHES GO TO ARMED FORCES Hol'd that light, mister, will continue to be the popular phrase in coming months, accord ing to a WPB report which states that about 90 per cent of all penny matches and 25 per cent of all book matches pro duced in the next six months will be delivered to the armed forces. Although few penny box matches will be available to civ ilians during this period, matches of the household type will be produced in sufficient quantity to meet all civilian needs. SHIPS NAMED AFTER GREAT AMERICANS The names of three great A- mericans, Wendell L. Willkie, George W. Norris and Alfred E. Smith, will be honored by being given to three new Liberty Ships now under construction, it is an nounced by the U.S. maritime commission. ROUND-UP Primost cheese prices at all levels of distribution will be 3 cents a pound higher after this week as a result of OPA action to relieve hardship suffered by manufacturers undeT the pre vious price ceiling. Ceiling prices of plug chew ing tobacco have been increased by 20 per cent at all sales levels as a step to help manufacturers overcome the increased cost bur den under which they operate. Leather-soled moccasins with a house-slipper type of construc tion will continue to be stocked by stores as ration-free foot-wear thru Dec. 31. After that date this type of foot-wear will be classified as rationed. . . Buyers of coal and other solid fuels are entitled to receive from their dealers an invoice, sales slip or receipt that contains full infor mation about the kind of fuel sold to them and the price paid.
