The first type reads for educa tional purposes. The second, for entertainment and the third type the confirmed book worm,'reads because he has to read. It is a craving with him much as the desire for a narcotic is to the dope-addict. This third type will read anything from the Postal Guiue to the telephone direct ory, if there is nothing else available and the craving be comes intense. I well can understand such a failing, belonging to this cate gory myself. I read all billboards, inscriptions on monuments, signs in the street cars and have al most broken my neck trying to read the titles of books under people’s arms, not because I wa3 so interested in what was said on them but because of my addiction to the printed page. A friend of mine once told me that having beeir marooned for a length of time far from books and magazines' and even the daily paper she was finally reduced to pulling off the news paper wall covering of an aban doned shack and reading it room by room. Before she left she said she was pretty well up on the San Francisco earthquake and the horseless carriage. Hair Styling Hair Cutting to Hollywood” by Emily Kimbrough After Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimbrough wrote in “Our Hearts Were Young and Gay” the hilarious account of their adventures in Paris -when they were “young and gay” and incredibly naive, Hollywood bought the picture rights to the book and invited the authors to write the scenario. “We Followed Our Hearts to Hollywood” is the amusing account of their' initia tion into the fabulous world of the movie colony. Cornelia and Emily now re spectably middle-aged did not expect the unpredictable things to happen to them that had happened to them in their youth but they had no sooner started Hollywood-ward when Emily was trapped under the folding bed in her compartment on the train and had to back out into the aisle face down to extricate her self, much to the amused wonder of the other passengers and that was only the beginning.
