Millis, son of Mrs. P. J. Millis,
who has seen much fighting in
Italy, wrote this week that he is
now in San Antonio, Texas with
his wife but that he has been
assigned to a rest hospital. As
soon as he has a good rest they
will be seen rolling into Riverview

serve were among those grad­
uating from an intensive course
of anti-aircraft gunnery instruc­
tion training at recent service
schools exercises at Great Lakes,
Illinois. Included in the group
was Mildred E. Weed, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar G. Weed.

specialized training, which is be­
ing offered for the first time to
women , on the basis of their
pre-training aptitude test scores
After graduation -they will be
assigned to shore-based training
activities as Mark 3 and 4 train-
ers instructors.

son had as a recent guest, her
father, J. H. Kennedy, of Eugene.
Mrs. ' Kilburg received word
Mon. that her daughter,. Max­
ine Cameron, reached Pamona,
N. Carolina and found her hus­
band, Tom Cameron, much im­
proved. He had been wounded and
shell shocked and sent to the
hospital there.
Mrs. Helen Tunnell of Bend
visited last week with her sister
Mrs. Leola Bonnell. She also
spent a few days in Vernonia
with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Aus­
tin Warner.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine Tall­
man and little daughter Donna
Lorraine, and Mrs. Elmo Tail­
man visited the latter’s mother
Mrs. Edith Riggle, at Buxton
recently.
Mrs. Al Martin spent the past
ten days in Olympia where she
has been a guest of her mother,
Mrs. C. 0. Gosney.
Mr., Tim of Ridgefield, Wash,
visited last week with his daugh­
ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Dick Bradley.

The high school. Boys’ Club
entertained fathers of high school
boys Monday night. Fifty-six dads
were present for a mulligan
feed and games. Harold McEn­
tire supervised the feed and Or-
ile Robbins the program of games
with the boys and their dads com­
peting. The dads won the volley
ball contest and the boys the
tug of war.
