Divine, former owners of the Squeeze-Inn were in Vernonia, Saturday and Sunday. They left here about two weeks ago to make their home in Lebanon. Mr. Divine is with the Hobin Logging Co., out of Sweet Home and Mrs. Divine is working in a local restaurant. Suffer* Broken Arm— Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth White and family visited at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hobin in Sweet Home and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Morris in Lebanon last Thursday while they were on a business trip to the two towns. Mr. Hobin is Mrs. White’s brother and the Morrises are relatives of Mr. White and were former owners of the Hyvan Hotel. Attend Football Game— Mr. and Mrs. Lytle Greene and daughter, Karen, spent the week end with relatives in Tacoma. They also attended the season’s opening football game between the University of Washington and Whitman college. Mrs. Greene is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Cason and will make her home in Vernonia. BACK THE ATTACK.. He suffered a broken right arm which will confine him to his home for some time. Visitor from Richmond Calif.- Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Heenan’s house guest for the past week was Ruby Tisdale of Richmond, California. She is Mrs. Heenan’s sister. Daughter Visit* from Palo Alto— Miss Betty Jaegen has been in Vernonia for the past three weeks visiting with her mother, Mrs. J. F. Heenan and has now left for Stanford university at l’alo Alto. Party Honors New Members— Mrs. Roland's Sunday school class of girls, known as the Ban ner class, entertained with a party at the Evangelical church on Sat urday, September 25. The party was given in honor of new mem bers and was attended by about 10 girls. Go to John Day— Mrs. Mae Lemons, Mrs, Robert Holcomb and daughter, Hazel Mae, left Thursday for a two- weeks visit in John Day. Daughter Born— Mr. and Mrs. Harvard Malmsten of Vancouver, are the parents of a girl born on September 9. The little girl has been named Sydney Ann and' is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Malmsten.
