I Thursday, December 31, 1942 Christmas Program Held at Natal NATAL—Noble Dunlap was in St. Helens on government business Monday. The school and Grange Christmas party Wednesday evening, Decem ber 23, was well attended and a g od time was reported. Mr. anil Mrs. Waddell called on Mr. ami Mrs. R. S. Lindsay Sat urday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Craig at Seattle called on Mr. and Mrs. Dunlap Sunday. William Pringle, Sr., had Christ mas dinner with his daughter Mrs. Dottie Smith at the Pittsburg guard station. Mrs. fra Peterson was in Ver nonia Monday and called on Mrs. B. George Brown and Mrs. M. " Steers in Riverview. Mrs. Nettie Peterson spent Christmas day with her son and family, the Ira Petersons. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Jubenville and Mrs. Marie Benson were over from Clatskanie a week ago Sunday and hul Christmas dinner with the Dave McMul’en family at Baker Point lookout. Mrs. L. B. Eastman visited with Mrs. Waddell on Tuesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Noble Dunlap were raliers at the M. B. Steers home last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pringle, Jr., and children, Bob and Mary Lou, drove to Seaside Christmas morn ing and had dinner with Mrs. Pringles mother and two daughters, Pat and Sue. Johnson Returns To Hospital Monday; Spends Week at Home MIST—Guests for Christmas din ner at the Roy Hughes home were Mr. and Mrs: Robert Mathews, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hall and family, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones and Mrs. Maude Rogers. W. R. Johnson was taken to a Portland hospital' Monday for a check-up. He came home a week ago last Saturday and has been do ing as well as can be expected con sidering the seriousness of his re cent operations. He was very ill in the hospital, having had blood trans fusions. L. Wikstrom and his family came up from Taft and spent the holidays with their daughter, the Joe Roes- er folks. Mrs. Roper and son, Howard, spent Friday and Saturday with her son, E:.rl Roper, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Alvery Trotter and small sftn and Mrs. Madelene Trot ter were guests of their grandpar ents and Madelene Trotter’s mother, the Austin Dowlings, Christmas day. Mr. and Mis. Melvin DeRock came up from Florence and spent Chritsmas with relatives here. Keasey Folk Have Xmas Visitors KEASEY—Visitors at the Ronald McDonald home Christmas were: Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smith and three children from Detroit, Ore gon, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Smith and children from Glenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Smith and two child ren; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smejkal and daughter from Tillamook; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Huit; Mr. and Mrs. P.ay Cota and daughter; and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Smith and son. Visitors at the J. O. DeVaney home Christmas were Mr. and Mrs. Vern Dusenberry and daughter, George Lawrence and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Westerburg, all from Portland. Mr. and Mrs. L. 0. Gillham vis ited at the J. O. DeVaney home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kreiger and family spent Christmas with the Herb Sturdevant family. (Visitors at the W. J. Lindsley home Christmas were Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lindsley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lindsley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Smith and son, and Tom Juola. Mrs. O. S. Poynter made a busi ness trip to St. Helens Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lindsley and two children visited Thursday at the Sam Smith home at Treharne. Mr. and Mrs. G. A. White of Portland spent Saturday night at the W. J. Lindsley home. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Counts and daughters visited Friday at the Herb Counts home. Elsie and Anna McDonald from Portland spent Christmas and week-end with their parents, - and Mrs. Bruce -- McDonald daughter, Ellen. Vacation Follows Program at Mist MIST—The Mist school gave a nice program Thursday ev«ning, which was well attended. Mr. and Mrs. Charleg Sundland made a hurried trip down from Portland Saturday night a week ago bringing W. R. Johnson home from the hospital. Owing to the heavy snowfall early Tuesday morning, some of the Math ew Brothers’ crew returned home; however the snow soon turned to rain. C. O. Hayden and family went to Portland and visited her parents over Christmas. Mr. and .Hrs. Donald Sundland and Sharon went to Newburg Christ- m-s eve to visit her parents, the Seifkin family. On Christmas day they were guests of the Charles Sund’and family in Portland. With Christmas over and New Years soon to be, next comes the income tax! Mr. and Mrs. Melvin DeRock were Christmas dinner guests of the Br;,*<rers familv. Emanuel Johnson came home from Portland last week with a new log truck. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hughes were Portland visitors one day last week.
