6 Thursday, Dec. 4, 1941, Vernonia Eagle, Vernonia, Oregon Several Attend Lund Funeral TREHARNE—Mr. and Mrs. Dan iel McCrory and daughter, Sara, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Thomas and daughter, Jeannene, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Mullins were Saturday evening visitors at the Alois Sauer home. Among those from here who at tended the funeral of Emil Lund were: Mr. and Mrs. A. Bergstrom and daughter, Mrs. Pretzman, John Glassner, Bert Keck, Mrs. Elia O’ Connor and Mrs. Betty Schram. Mrs. Frank O’Connor, Elton, Vi ola and Ruby O’Connor, Retha Mae Smith and Mrs. H. E. Schram spent Saturday afternoon at the hospital with Mr. O’Connor. Lloyd McChristian was taken to the hospital' Saturday. He is in the same hospital with Frank O’Connor. Mr. and Mrs. Otis Eubanks and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Claton Eu banks and Mr. and Mrs. Eskel Eu banks left early Monday morning for Arkansas where Eskel Eubanks was called to be with his sick mother. Beulah O’Connor accompanied Mrs. Calhoun and sons to Portland Saturday. John Hayertz of Oakland, Calif ornia, visited his brother and sister- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hayertz, several' days last week. Mrs. Ronald McDonald has been i’l at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ray Cota. Malissa Hult entertained the Pin ochle club Wednesday afternoon. First prize went to Nell Thacker, second, Susan Krebs, and low to Myra Hodgson. Chester Reynolds and Dorothy Nyman spent the week-end with the Albert Reynolds. John Hayertz accompanied Mr. and Mrs. George Hayertz to Aber deen, Washington, Friday where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hayertz. On the return trip Sat urday they visited more friends and relatives. Mr. Hayretz returned to Oakland by train Saturday night. Lady Returns From the East STONEY POINT—Ms. and Mrs. Harry Kersting and family visited with friends in Portland Sunday. Mrs. Harry Howell who has been quite ill is much better but Miss June Mulkin’s condition is much worse. Mr. and Mrs. Noel' Wood and Miss June Wood accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Wood to Portland Saturday. Mrs. Nels Chambers who has been visiting in the East returned to her home here Saturday. She is leaving for Alaska the 9th of December. Mrs. Everett Wood and Mrs. Noel Wood were visitors in St. Helens Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Hoofmeister of Roseburg spent Sunday visiting with their daughter and son-in-l'aw, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mathews were Sunday evening guests at the H. M. Condit home. Mrs. Kenneth White. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gardner motor ed to Bay Ocean to spend the week end duck hunting.
