Surprise Party
Held Tuesday
TIMBER—Mrs. Richard Marquez
entertained last Tuesday for her
daughter, Mary, on her twelfth
birthday
Bobby Bino was taken to the
Jones Hospital in Hillsboro Sunday
with pneumonia.
Maud Jones of Newberg was
a week’s visitor at the Ira Kilburg
home.
Dance
Successful
The dance Sathrdty night, spon-
sored by the P.T.A. was well at-
tended. The “Nightengales 1” 1 turn­
ished the music. The quilt which
was awarded by the Ladies Am-
bulance Corps. Nine dollars was
cleared on the dance and seven
dollars and thirty cents on the i
luncjt. Another dance will be giv­
,
en September 6 with the
music.
Quite a large crowd from here '
attended the IWA picnic at Ver­
nonia Saturday
Mr. and Mrs. John Dunn had
as Sunday dinner guests: Mrs.
Dunn’s mother, Mrs. Anna Farmen
of Mill City, her sister, Mrs. Cnils-
tensen, and son Jimmy of Forest
Grove and another sister and bro­
ther-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Alvin
Ryder and family of Birkenfeld.
Russie Brown returned to her
home at Snoqualmie, Washington,
after visiting her brother, LaRue,
»nd family and sister-in-law, Mrs.
Geoffrey Brown, the past several
weeks.
E. C. Kubler accompanied Louis
Herceg to Portland one evening
where he visited his wife who is
ill. George True is taking Herceg’s

place as car inspector.
Mrs. Lucinda Bino was very
pleasantly surprised when a group
of her friends called last Wed.,
to wish her a happy birthday,
Those enjoying a pot-luck dinner
were Mrs. Joe Reveal, Mrs. Ruth
Pinkley, Mrs. Nellie Kubler and
Billie, Mrs. Elmo Tallman and
Mr. and Mrs. John Bino.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry McLauchlan
ar.d Mary Ellen of Portland were
visitors here last Tuesday.
DeLais Kay is visiting her bro­
ther, Kelly, in Beaver, California.
Alice Perry of Portland is now
cooking at the Gilmore hotel.
Etta Mae Wells was a visitor

treatment for bronchitis and strep-
