PICNIC and PLAY at Readers of the Vernonia Eagle will soon be enjoying the annual series of the Oregon State Motor Association-Oregonian motor logs which will appear as a special fea ture in this paper throughout the summer. The motorlog series were started many years ago by the motor as sociation to encourage knowledge of Oregon and its highways and to urge the citizens of the State to take advantage of the scenic and recreational resources of Ore gon. Unusual places throughout the State and Northwest will be visited by reporters and cameramen to bring the readers a story of their own State in words and picture. A later development of the mo torlog series has been their use as a source material for Oregonians to learn just what their own state has to offer out-of-state relatives and friends. The realization that travel means more than 134 millions of dollars to the state each year has prompted The Vernonia Eagle to assist in telling the story of Oregon. Watch for the motorlogs to be run in this paper during the next three months. When you have read them—clip them out and send them to some relative or friend and urge him to travel in Oregon this year.
