The post office bowlers lost the
top rating which they have main-
tained since the beginning of the
tournament last Wednesday eve-
ning when King’s Grccéry defeated
the mailmen. High point man for
the evening was Bob' King with a
score of 387 pins for the three
games.
The Monday evening g. me of
this week was postponed because
of sickness but will be played as
soon as possible according to W.
E. Burton, bowling alley manager.

against Vancouver Rifle Club in
Vancouver,
Washington
January
17. The score was 878 and 856 in
the sitting and standing match,
Vernonia high men and their res-
pective scores were: Zimmerdahl,
182; Meilis, 170; Nichols, 169;
Kellmer, 168; McCollum, 167.
There will not be a match this
coming Friday as was scheduled;
Hillsboro, No. 2 team has been
dropped to a lower class.

Carl Ray spent the week-end in

village shoppers Monday evening.
Mrs. Don Hall, Mrs. Roy Hughes
and Mrs. Myrtle Holce went to
Camhill Sundry to bring their uncle,
Collie Perine to Forest Grove. He
was taken to the hospital there
Monday.

St. Helens that evening to visit the
Ed Lindberg folks.

Basketball fans will witness one
of the most entertaining games of
the season Sunday, January 26,
when the renowned House of David
basketball quintet will' give the
Vernonia IWA competition. The
game is set for 8 o’clock on the
Washington grade school gym floor,
according to Denny Ryves, IWA
manager.
The David tei 11 was organized
by George H. Johnson, the Amer-
ican Association Basketball League
umpire for the past 27 year», in
1931 and since that time has tour­
ed all' western states, Mexico and
the provinces of Canada, traveling
approximately 22,000 miles and
playing 125 games each season.
About 90 per cent of the games
are .placed in the win column.
The team is made up of ex­
college stars and has won its way
into the ranks of bette. American
basketball attractions. Personnel of
the team is as follows:
Floyd “Red” Johnston—Forward;
6 ft.; weight 175; fourth season.
Johnston is coach and team leader.
Wayne Payton—Center, 6 ft., 2
in.; weight 170.
Oliver Trouth—Guard; 5 ft., 10
in.; weight 185.
