Mrs. Deerberry received a number of attractive and useful gifts. A big birthday cake with 81 candles was the attractive center- piece for the table. Those present were: Percy Deerberry of Salem, Mrs. Maude Barton of Portland, Mrs. Violet Chapman and children, Janet and Jackie of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Signet of Port land, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Dunlap of Camp McGregor, Mr. and Mrs. William Ellis and son, Billy, of Oregon City, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mellinger and children, Joan and Billy, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Mellinger and the guest of honor, Mrs. Deer berry. A large number of friends and relatives gathered at the Carl Davis home Saturday evening and helped Mrs. Davis celebrate her birthday. Pinochle was played and at the end of the evening it was found that Frank Lange held high score for men and Mrs. Frank Riley had ladies high score. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Paris won consola tion awards.
