GROUND HOG
MAY SEE SHADOW
TOMORROW
Tomorrow, February 2, the
ground hog will come from his
burrow after his winter sleep
to determine whether it is ad
visable for him to remain
awake or return for another
six weeks of slumber, accord
ing to legend. The story con
tinues further to state that
should the shadow be visible
the hog will seturn to his nest
for more sleep. If spring
weather, such as experienced
here this week continues the
shadow will be evident for cer
tain. Then it will be possible to
determine whether the story
may be considered reliable or
whether the Upper Nehalem
valley will continue to enjoy
spring weather in February.
