DON’T BE MISLED
On the ballot in the November election will be a measure entitled “A
Bill to Regulate Picketing and Boycotting.” The sponsors of this measure
claim it is designed only to regulate certain activities of Labor Organiza-
tions. Don’t be misled. This bill will
1. Prohibit unions from functioning in the interest of their members.
2. Prevent the organization of new unions.
3. Prohibit peaceful picketing.
4. Prohibit any spoken or writte 1 word which might be interpreted as
encouraging a boycott of products, however unfair the conditions
under which the products were made.
5. Protect and perpetuate the aoti-union shop and sweatshop condi
tions in industry.
6. Prevent union members from determining for themselves what dues
they should pay to conduct th? reasonable activities of the union.
7. Encourage and protect strikebreaking.
8. Establish government by injunction.
To deprive the working man of his right to organize and bargain collect
ively will result in a much lower living standard for the workers, which will
have its direct affect on the farmer and the small business man.
The inevitable result of such legislation is further estrangement between
capital and labor and will result in industrial chaos. This bill is an attack
at the very foundation of American De nocracv in that it will secure advan
tages to one class of people at the direct disadvantage of another class of
people.
