SOCIETY NEWS - CLUBS - FRATERNAL i _______________________________________________________ i JUNIORS ARE HOSTS AT ANNUAL PROM The junior class of Vernonia high school played host to about 300 friends of the school at the annual Junior Prom in the high school gymnasium Friday night. The event is in honor of the graduating class. The setting for the dance sug gested a garden with shrubs, ferns and blossoms growing a- gainst a garden wall which sur rounded the room. The words “Welcome Seniors” were formed in silver across the entrance, and hanging baskets of spring flowers and greenery were used effectively. A silver and blue color note honoring the senior class colors predominated, and was used for streamers which hid the ceiling. Punch was served at an old fashioned well, and the Dan Flood orchestra of Portland play ed behind a white garden fence and gate. Colored lights en hanced the scene. Patrons and patronesses were Mr. and Mrs. Judd Greenman, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Condit, Mr. and Mrs. Harold McEntire, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace McCrae and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gordon. Several underclassmen assis ted with checking, tickets, and the punch bowl. These included Heidi Reich, Mildred Woods, Pat McGraw, Marjorie Lange, Bessie Bell, Betty Jacobs and Ernie Russell. , All members of the junior class assisted with arrangements under the leadership of Wallace McCrae, class advisor, and Clar ence Lamping, class president. Among those who were responsi ble for the beautiful decorations and lighting effects were Nor man Crowder, Elizabeth Wall, Edith Ludwig and Sonny Scha- lock. Jack Childs was music chairman, and Margaret Salo- monsen in charge of invitations. ______ V_______ DELEGATES REPORT ON C. E.
