ia sprang a surprise on her
friends by slipping away from
Gold Hill, where she is teaching
school, to Grants Pass to be­
come the bride of Daniel Steiner
of Portland. The couple will live
in Gold Hill.

Marshal Kelly raided the Ver­
nonia Billiard parlor Friday night
and arrested eight men for play­
ing stud poker. Each was fined
$15 by judge Reasoner.
