There was plenty of action from beginning to end. In the curtain raiser “Two Ton’’ Davis and Ciifford Lyons fought a lively four round draw, Har- old Hoben and Joe McNutt also boxed a draw. The bout between Red Vike and Tony Crullo stole the show. It was a slam-bang give and take all the way through. Most of the crowd thought Vike should have had the decision, but Refer ee Bert Tisdale called it a draw. In the semi-final between Geno Cortesi and Ken Parker the de cision'was won in six rounds by Cortesi. He again proved that he is a little too tough for local bantam weights. The main event, between Joe Magoff and John Monroe, was a mixture of boxing, slugging and comedy. Monroe got the worst of it, though he jumped around to avoid some of Magoff’s heavy thrusts. After a series of knockdowns Referee Curly Buff mire stopped the fight in the fourth round to save Monroe from further pnishment. Al Cummings, a good looking newcomer from Montana, chal lenged Magoff. _______ »_______ SERVICING »OCALS Vernonia Auto Co.
