Included in the party was Frank McGrath, “stand in” for Mr. Baxter. They lunched at the RKO studios with Maxine Jennings, John Beal (who took the part of “The Little Minister”), Bar bara Pepper (new leading lady in the next Wheeler and Woolsey comedy) and George Nichols, Jr., director, afterwards watching him direct scenes for “M’liss” starring Anne Shirley and John Beal. They also watched Ginger Rog ers and Fred Astaire shooting scenes for their next picture, “No More Dances.” The weather was pleasantly hot, the flowers and trees were at their best. Mrs. Marston drove south through the Siskyous, Mt. Shasta foerst and the Sacramento valley. She returned by San Fran cisco, the Redwood highway and the Oregon Coast highway, mak ing the trip memorable for its scenic beauty. ______ *______ Mrs. F. D.
