Dunne, republican nominee for governor, in conversation m Ver nonia yesterday afternoon. He favors the issuance of scrip fin anced by state deposits and the stamp redemption plan, for loan ing to plants in need of funds. Another item he stressed is the stabilization of prices for agriculture. The department of agriculture is now a department of inspection, he said. It should be a department with a program that will help the farmer develop markets. He also declared that he would urge the legislature to enact a fair practices act for retailers so that the retailers can make a living. “Some things in the NRA are worth preserving,” he main tained. “We should keep the best of it.” Mr. Dunne, who was on his way back to Portland from Astor ia, where he was admiral of the rege|;a, stopped off in Vernonia for a couple of hours to chat with friends. He talked enter tainingly of his experiences at the regatta and discussed state politics frankly. A number of his admirers greeted him as the next governor.
