Pythian Sisters, acting in behalf
of the grand chief, Mrs. Mamie
Bennett, made her official visit
to Vernonia temple Wednesday
evening.
A dinner in the lodge hall at

trip that evening.
The senior “Pow-wow” was
held at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
E. J. Douglass after the senior
banquet last week.
Upon entering each was given
an Indian name. Following the
trail (a string stretched along
the floor) by aid1 of the large
end of a spy glass, they indulged
in a big game hunt (animal
crackers) which they brought
back to the squaws, where a big
feast was held.
Next came gathering of the In
dian corn, thrown broadcast on
the floor. Marian McCoy and
Bert Mills bartered for a squaw
and brave with the returns of
the harvest.
Next, things associated with
Indians were jumbled, which all
claimed
as rightly answered,
whereupon the peace-pipe made
its appearance and was awarded
to Janet John.
There were also charades per
taining to Indeans, gathering of
nuts (from the floor) and squaws
going to look at traps, returning
with fudge.
Canoe pictures were given as
prizes to Benji Wilkerson and
Ethel Kelley for excellence in
“following the trail.”
