Among the Camp McGregor folks who were guests at a party given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wornstaff, Saturday evening in Portland, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Larson, 33 E 45th St. were Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Goodwin, Mr. and Mrs. V. W. Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kerr and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wornstaff. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Doyles are Bpending their vacation with Mrs. Doyles’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bergstrom in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hegler and son Carl are in Rainier having Carl’s tonsils removed. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jones were Vernonia visitors Tuesday and Wednesday, returning with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Kellogg. Howard Baker of Klamath Falls who was the guest of the Dusenberrys two weeks, return ed to his home there last Sat urday. Mrs. Dusenberry is his sister. C. E. Bradford and family spent several days last week with relatives in Camas, Washington. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Fletcher are visiting in Portland. Mrs. P. H. Peterson and little son returned from Portland Mon day after a visit with her par ents there. Mrs. O’Donnell and children returned to camp Tu sday after spending a week with Mrs. O’ Donnell’s mother at Cornelius. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Westlin of Tacoma spent a,'few days last week with the former’s brother, Carl and family. Glen Hawkins of Vernonia was the guest of the Scott family Saturday. School Items Santa Claus arrived in Mrs. Ray’s room last Wednesday af ternoon and according to the children came down down the chimney and returned up it. He had a gift of an orange and nuts and chocolate sucker for each child in the room and a number of small visitors who were pres ent. The children were greatly excited by the unusual arrival of Santa Claus. After the assembly program Wednesday, treats were provided in each of the rooms by the teachers. In a number of the rooms the children received a candy cane and an orange. Mrs. Duncan presented her room with a fish bowl and three gold fish which will be enjoyed by the children for the remain der of the year. They also re ceived a candy cane. LaVerne Thompson is back in the fifth grade after an absence of two months in Texas.
