The judges appointed by the president, Mrs. Herman Veal, were Mrs. J. Greenman, Mrs. M. D. Cole and Judge Reasoner. The list of prizes donated by the merchants was published in the last issue of the Eagle. Because some of the gardens were of such a character they could not be classed with any of the regular division, the judges decided to create a special prize of $5 first; $3 second and $2 third. Two of the gardens awarded prizes of this class were made from logged off land and one from ploughed land with not a shrub or flower. Class 1: Doing own work. Best general appearance, 1, E. M.
