A delightful and colorful event
of last week was the May Day
program sponsored by the Lin­
coln school Friday morning on
their lawns. Each
room
had
charge of one feature. The first
and second grades performed an
interesting drill. The third grade,
dressed iq gdeen mnd white,
wound the May pole and danced,
and the fourth grade, with Alice
Hoffman as May Queen gave a
dialogue.
Open house was held at the
school all day Friday. At noon
the parents, teachers, and chil­
dren had a picnic lunch under
the trees in the yard.
The main feature was a track
meet and baseball game between
the two schools.

The teachers of the Washing­
ton and Lincoln school enjoyed
a hike and lunch to the dam at
Keasey Saturday afternoon.
Monday, Mrs. Duncan’s fourth
grade ate their dinner on the
banks of Rock creek in the city
park. Mr. Spring's sixth grade
picniced at Pringle's Bend while
Miss Taylor’s sixth grade hiked
a short distance up Pebble creek.

club Thursday, May 9 was in
the form of an all day picnic.
The ladies motored to Sheeley’s
Grove and took their dinners.
The afternoon was spent in play­
ing games including a tug of war
and various types of races. Those

Babb, Tom Turner, Georgia Mc­
Kee, Dolly Stevens, George John­
son, George Ogg, George Dror-

Christian Church
At the Christian church Lords
day May 26, there will be the
regular services, beginning at
10 o’clock for the Bible school.
We hope to see the large atten­
dance that has been the rule at
this service.
At 11 a.m. the Lord’s supper
and preaching. The subject to
be decided as the need may be.
We urge the young folks to
attend the Christian Endeavor at
7:00. In the evening at 8:00 the
preaching as usual. A great song
service. The public is invited.
