Nelson In Main Event Saturday Kid Nelson, Vernonia’s pop ular middleweight, will fight the eight-round main event Sat urday night in the smoker at the Legion hall with Frankie Flynn, 160 pounds, of Portland as his opponent. Nelson has been winning all his fights and at St. Helens a few weeks ago knocked out Bull Durham, St. Helens’ best middle weight in the main event of the Legion smoker. Frankie Flynn, who is to fight Nelson, is a hard hitting clever mixer and will make Nelson hit on all fours, if Nelson intends to carry on with his list of vic tories. Flynn has been fighting on the coast, but doing most of his battling in Hollywood, Calif., and in making his first showing in Portland was awarded the de cision over battling Maneveau of Kelso. Dane Brady of Vernonia will mix with Bob Hensley of Port land in a six round semi-wind- up. As in all of Brady fights, the affair promises to be a leal scrap. Hensley, 126 pounds, is about the same build as Brady, ac- cording to word received from his manager, and is a clever fast hard hitting youngster who has followed the fight game for the last two years, but like Flynn has done very little fighting around Portland or cities in Ore gon. Kid Scott, the popular Tim ber scrapper who in the recent smoker won his battle by a K.O., will fight Peter Berry, 116 pounds, of Portland in one of the prelim fights. Scott can hit, and moves like a streak of lightning, demonstrating h i s fighting ability when he had Bil ly Little of Portland groggy in the third round of their four round battle two weeks ago. Scott won the approval of the fight fans in this city by his good showing and all seem very anxious to see this clever boxer in action again. Two other good preliminaries will make up the fight card which should be a whiz judging from some of men playing the leading part. 4-H Clubs Complete This Year’s Work A delegation of bu: iness men from the By Sheriff Chamber of Commerce Big Supply on Hand Dentist Attends Wn.
