I ___ THURSDAY, MARCH 28, 192« VERNONIA EAGLE, VERNONIA, OREGON SIX CDADTC 01 Ulti O indoor and OUTDOOR both men fighting at 165 pounds in a four round semi-windup. Bennett is an aggressive hard fighting man, who can mix, and we are assured from the Port land fight followers that Long sure does like his mixings and will attempt to satisfy Bennett's longing Saturday night. One of the prelims lined up, is between Billie Little of Port land and Kid Scott of Timber both men fighting at 115 pounds in their 4 round mixto. Scott is well known around the Timber district and with Bennett, another drawing card from Westimber, will have a large following from Timber and the camps to see these boys strut their foot work Saturday. Taking the card all around it seems as well balanced as any card ever presented in this city, and it is hoped that the fans will be as well pleased as at the recent fight in the Legion hall March 9. Good Double Main Event Scheduled For Saturday Night Card Fight fans who quickly size up the outline for a boxing card, will be at ease after surveying the lineup arranged by Match maker Pat. Murphy for the smoker next Saturday night. Another double main event, with Dove Knight battling John ny Topaz, that hard egg from Spivey’s stable of boxers and who gave Knight a dandy run for his money March 9, Kid Nelson Fights Dur ham Again Tomorrow Then Dane Brady in the other half of the main event will meet Jack Tweed from Portland, and those who witnesses these two young glove throwers fight at Forest Grove a few months ago, will appreciate the fact that the boys were re-matched. Chet Bennett of Timber is to battle Pat Long of Portland, Kid Nelson popular Vernonia fighter will battle a return match with Bull Durham of St. Helens in the main event of the Ameri can Legion smoker, tomorrow night at Sa. Helens. Lee Davis of Vernonia will fight thd semi windup with Young Barcus of St. Helens, in a four round battle. The match between Bull Dur ham and Nelson was a demand after these boys fought a draw at Forest Grove a week ago last Wednesday and pleased the larg est crowd ever to witness a smoker in recent years in this city. Lee Davis also fought at the Grove a week ago receiving a Hurry Up! draw from Kid Glasco of Hills easily fooled, when it comes to High School Athletes boro, and Davis is considered judging the merits of the fight.
