Although the public school is the
most widely known branch of her
work, a health nurse has many
more duties than this. She is con­
stantly working for the American
Red Cross in their nation wide

and sickness.
“Another phase of a health
nurse’s work is to investigate
charity cases. Every family who
applies to the county judge for re­
lief is investigated thoroughly be­
fore relief is given. Persons having
relatives or property or any other
means of securing money are not
given aid. It goes only to those who
really need it.”
