News of Vernonia Schools The Timber Line Teachers and Students Speak at “Pep Rally” In Friday Assembly Last Friday -ome of the teachers and a representative from each of the four classes spoke before the assembly. Miss Hickman’s talk was on “Boulder Dam.” She explained all; about this important project of the government. Mrs. Hammack spoke of several things, among them the bringing to England of the first American airplane made by Wright brothers. Candlewax stains are often found on garments worn during holiday festivities. They usually consist of paraffin colored with pigment or dye. Much of this material may be scraped away. If the wax has pene trated the fiber most of it may be removed by placing clean blotting paper over and under the spot and passing a warm iron over it. A grease solvent such as carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, gasoline, and others, may be needed to take out the last traces of wax. If dye remains on the fiber the spot may ue sponged with wood alcohol.
