Freeland Kendrick, wife of the Mayor of Philadelphia, who also is president of the Sesqul-Centennial International Exposition Association, organized to stage a great celebration to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Mrs. Kendrick Is Bhown beside the historic Liberty Bell, which she tapped at a recent broadcasting event when the world was told of completion of plans for the big exposition. Rex Ingram's production of Mare Nostrum (Our Sea), which comes to the Majestic theatre Saturday night and Sunday matinee. Is a powerful story of the sea at the time of the great World war. Another screen star comes to the front with the announcement that she is “through” with comedies. This time it is Viola Dana, who is co-featured with Ben Lyon in “The Necessary Evil,” which first National will present at the Maj estic theatre next Sunday. “The most thrilling tale in years, told in the Liberty magazine by W. John Foftl, the man who was re sponsible for “The Iron Horse” and other Fox Films epirs, wins new laurels by his direction of “The Blue Eagle,” whfch shows at the Majestic theatre next Tuesday and Wednesday. Coupled mith the magii name of Stewart Edward White, one of the few literary figures who have lived in and written of the old west in an immortal day, Fred Thompson comes to the screen of the Majestic theatre next Thursday and Friday with “The Two Qun Man," first of the Thompson production to be made from the works of this noted author.
