The high school is presenting
tonight the first plays of the sea
son, and it seems especially fit-
tiu«f chat at this time plays of the
character presented should be
given, since the holiday vacations
begin today and extend ovgr un
til the new year.
Our young thespians aoe pre
senting an unusual entertainment
in that they are using three clas
sics of one act each Instea i of the
usual three act comedy of indiff
erent standing. '1 he first one is
a tragedy of the north coast of
Ir land’s fisher folk as written
by Synge. It delineates the life,
home, costumes and quaint lan
guage of these peculiar people of
stern charactor,
superstitious
natures and mental limitations.
The second, The Making of
Dreams, is a phantasy on that
phase of life where the attempt
to selfishly sips the sweets of
mere existence, proves a failure
that can only-change to s .recess
when into our lives is brought
the dream of love. Milne's com
edy. Wurzel-Flummery, is a hum
orous fling ai English arrogance
coupled with the Englishman’s
love of wealth and bis measures
of excuses for justifying his acts.
The instrument, Dennis, central
izes the thought at the fall of the
curtain when the hoax is com
plete by saying: “My Uncle He
