After an interruption of 20 days, due to the destruction of 2000 feet of track in the freshet 1« Hood river, the Mount Hood Railroad company has resumed its rervice to up-valley points Crops valued at $904,000 were pro duced during the year of 1922 on 57,- 186 acres of land in the Klamath rec lamation project, according to a report complied by H. D. Newell, manager of the project. R. E. Mantor, for two years a resi dent of Salem, has been appointed deputy warden of the state penlten- I tiary. The appointment was announc ed by Johnsen Smith, new warden of the institution. Of 167 arrests made by the Baker county sheriffs office in 1922, F7 were for alleged violations of the prohibition laws, according te a report compiled by Deputy B. M. Patterson.
