Mr. Drown ay that one of the
reason why the clam caniiiiiK busi

shipping of oil by water, at limes
law ipiantilics of crude oil would he
thrown into the ocean for one reason

on the beach and kill the spiwn from
the female crabs. He slates that there
i no formlhle danger of the clams
being thinned out here.
POTATO SCAB.
Potato scab is a very common dis
ease and one which is easily over
come with little ciire and treatment.
In the first place do not place your
potatoes lhi year in the same ground
that produced rough, scabby potatoes
hist season, hit Homrlhlng else in
that ground and use a new piece for
the potatoes. In lh second place,
treat the aecd with formalin tohittou
as follows' Soak the uncut lubrt in
a solution of formalin, i pint in ilnrt)
gallon of wilier, for two hours. Dmmi
int, and plant in clean noil. I'sr ihr
same solution over and ovei.
