Commencement exercises thii year
were of usual interest. As a prelim
inary to the main event the Juniors
gave a banquet to the graduating class
on JThureday evening, which wai at
tended by about 56, including the Al
umni. The banquet was made up or 6
courses.
Howard Lamar, "resident of the
Junior class acting as toastrnastcr called
on different ones for hor alks.
I'rof. Ralph Moore gave the first ad
dress and was followed by Miss Stella
Goyne, President of the Seniors. Ver
ne Hain reprcenting the Student body
gave a talk and was followed by Prof.
Buchanan. Mips Debar, Elbert E. Ginn
Henley Ftam
The banquet was pronounced a suc
cess by everyone present.
On Friday evening the graduating
exercises took place at the Christian
church with tho f illowing class mem
bership graduating- Stella Goyne,
ice Todd, Alice Perry, Vcrle Stanley,
Gail .Buel, Harvey Ebinger, Ralph
Harris, Perry DcLillis and Verne Bain.
The musical program of the evening
consisted of music bv the High School
Orchestra, violip solo by Areta Ever
son and a vocal solo by Vcrle Stanley.
The salutatory was given by Alice Per
ry and the Valedictorv was given by
Verne llaid. The audress of the even
ing wfts given by Prof. Ackerman of
Monmouth. At the close of the pro
gram Verne Bain was presented with a
year's scholarship at the Pacific Uni
versity at Foreot Grove, for having the
highest standings of any pupil n his

FEEDING THE ELEPHANT?
The money was in an envelope in the side pocket of his coat.
Thoughtless of results he put biscuit in his pockets for the
