REPORT ON FOREST FIRES.
Portland. July 2S. The Western For
ests Conservation sociatiun rep

fied by the Secretary of Agriculture
that a plan for forecasting hot dry

he was successful. Reed later was
hauled to safety, when his strength
was all but exhausted.

other hand unusual progress has been
made in trail and telephone building,
Adaho associations have cleaned up
nearly nil slashings and developed their
trail, telephone and emergency help
systems far in advance of previous
years. Montana reports a good many
small fires, 'with lightening und loco
motives the chief cause, and that al

such work voluntarily, the stats feels

ing of rights of way, Oregon has 14
patrol associations, representing 1600
timber owners, now patrolling over

Frank Nelson, of Hebo, whs quite
seriously injured last Sunday afternoon
by being kicked several times by a
couple of cown. Ho was kicked by the

where the doctor found several bail

brought to Cloverdale Wednesday with
