We informed that the new rock
crusher which was recently purchased ‘
by Tillamook county has been install- \
ed and is now in operation at the flat- i
sop county rock quarry.
Martin Ripley is visiting his Ulster,
Mrs. Herbert Thompson and family
near here. He has been in the U. S.
Navy for the past six years and is en- j
joying his first furlough in that time.1
Mr. and Mrs Sam Arbuckle and
Mrs. Nettie ljn<ey of Portland are-
spending a fev weeks vacation at
Manzanita in one of the W. G. Smith
eottages. Mr. Arbuckle has been
sales manager for the Manning Auto­
mobile Company for several years.
Mrs. Lindsey is the daughter of Mr.
Snedaker who is well known in Tilla­
mook county.
Telephone service was installed this
week from Nehalem office direct to
Seaside. Heretofore it has been nec­
essary for persons desiring this ser­
vice to call through the Tillamook ofti
ice and by way of Portland.
C. H. Graves of Tillamook will soon
begin the construction of a new school
house at Rector which is to be ready
for use this winter. Nehalem school
district No. 39 is paying for the work
and will furnish a teacher, while
Brighton Mills company whose em­
ployees will be the patrons principally
are donating the material.
Steel for the track for the draw of
the Todd bridge arrived the latter
part of last week and has been placed
in position on the pier. Little by
littie the niatrial has arrived and the
work drags slowly on. Meanwhile,
whose ever the fault for the delay, the
public anxiously await the day when
the bridge will be ready for service,
which will doubtless be some time
next year.
Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas MacLeod at
Seattle are the guests of Mr. and Mrs.
M. H. MacLeod at Mohler this week.
Mrs. Rose Wilkes and her sister,
Mrs. Stevens of Tillamook were visit­
ing their father, Mr. Humpke at Neah

R. R. Hamuiersly of Corvallis is in
this vicinity to interview K. P. num­
bers in insurance in that order.
Mrs. Alfred Josi of Tillamook is
visiting friends here this week.
Dr. E. E. Gilbert, district superin­
tendant of the M. E. church attended
a Roard meeting of the Nehalem and
Wheeler churches here Sunday eve­
ning. Dr. Gilbert was accompanied by
Mrs. Gilbert, a bride of two months.
