j
Having issued several hundred
personal invitations to witness the
Ford and Fordson Power Exposition,
the Tillamook Garage authorized
Ford, Fordson and Lincoln dealers
at Tillamook, report the probability
of a record breaking crowd when
■the Ford caravan shows here Satur
day, September 9.
Representing a property invest
ment of more than one hundred
thousand dollars and a daily operat
ing expence in excess of $500- 00.
the caravan is said to constitute an
attraction that could not possibly
be brought to Tillamook but for the
co-operation of one hundred Ford
i dealers and the dozen or more
ionally known manufacturers
’ distributors that are associated
| the Ford Motor Company in
enterprise.
"The whole community should '
! feel Indebted to the several factqrs
responsible for tlhis show," said E.
M. Condit for the caravan is indeed .
a most unusual, attraction and so J
costly that it would be impracticable '
to bring the caravan here except
under the great co-operative plan
| that governs the enterprise.
"The caravan is not exclusively,
a power-farming project," continued ,
Mr. .Condit “It is not wholly a lum-|
ber handling exposition. It is not a
traveling -demonstration of roadbuil-
1 ing and other engineering and con-
! trading methods. It is not a display
of household utilities, nor an expo-
! sitfon of lighting, pumping and
other industrial operations, but it
is a composite showing, demonstrat- j
ion or exposition of each and all of
these various phases of the entire
1 automotive industry, and as such.
| the caravan carries with it an appeal
i to practically every type of citizen.
"Perhaps It is the diversity of,
| equipment, the entertainment fea-
tures such as the movies and radio, j
1 possibly the novelty of the show as 1
j a w.hole, but whatever the cause, we :
i are receiving conclusive assurance
j every day of a crowd that will be J
I equally worthy of this community i
and of the caravan itself.”
In connection with demonstrations I
of the various apparatus, it will be I
possible to obtain free of charge a
special demonstration of any equip
ment not shown as part of the usual i
program. There are so many prod- j
ucts that it is not practial to dem
onstrate all of them in a single day, !
and under such conditions the rule i
is to learn so far as possible the
nature of demonstrations most app
licable to individual communities.
To do this, the personal invitations
sent out by the Tillamook Garage
are accompanied by a printed form
on which the recipient is asked to
indicate a choice of equipment that
is desired to be demonstrated, and
because the choice so made varies in
different communities, the general
program thus is made to conform to.
local conditions.
An excellent local program has
been arranged. Every detail of it is
free to everyone. This includes the
movies, radio and free transportation
from the premises of the Tillamook
Garage to the scene of the several
demonstrations for the benefit of any
persons not having their own cars.
The caravan is equipped with a free
buss and,a number of cars for this
purpose.
