Not long ago a poster bearing the
words "No More War" was noticed
hanging in the window of a rural
house. It was put there no doubt
with the spirit of helping to bring
public sentiment against waging
wars as was witnessed from 1914 to
1918 in Europe.
'l’he idea is excellent but whoever
conceived it put the cart before the
horse. War will not be stopped
simply by hanging out posters and
singing anthems of peace.
There
are deep underlying causes that
must be stamped out before a per­
iod of eternal peace prevails thru-
out the world.
The human face is ruled by many
complex emotions and natures, and
until the natural emotions of the
race are changed war will be a
scurge to the world. Only by the
abolishment of such human frailitlea
as dishonesty, selfishness and greed
will the result hoped tor by the
pacifists be attained.
