    Friday, Tune 9t
THE TILLAMOOK HEADLIGHT
Mrs. J. C. Holden presented 36 of
her piano students in a piano reci
tal and demonstration of the Dun
ning system of foundation training
to a large audience May 24th.
These pupils demonstrated with
ease to teh large audience their tho
rough understanding of harmony,
rhythm, ear training etc.
There ear training was particular
ly interesting as in the dictation
given them was in 7 sharps which
they immediately recognized and
every tone was written down on the
Blackboard with its proper tune
value. They recognized the tones
and Intervals in the Bass as easily
as in the Treble.
These little people wrote for one
hour on the Blackboard demonstrat-
ing tha fundamental principles of
music.
The recital part of the program
was putticfilarly interesting from the
number of duets, trios and double
trios as these demonstrated their
careful training in ensemble play
ing also excellent memory training.
The double trio by six little girls
was recalled and they responded In
a very pleasing manner.
The piano solos showed fine tech
nical training and intelligent In-
terpretatlon of each composltion.
It was pleasing to notice the num-
ber of boys on the program, They
plan an interesting racital next
fall.
