bill has been presented in the
legislature which, if adopted,

or farm property. As drawn,
this pleasure will have to be refer-
red to the voters of the state in June
1922; if it proves agreeable to, the

goveMnor.
Further delay might

of the bond market. More practical
results could be obtained by segre-

The Department of Pennsylvania
reports 19 Posts with a larger mem

1920.
Tillamook Post has not
reached that distinction, but it’s on
the way.

The biggest task which is now
being handled by the American Le

disabled veterans. Neglect and de
lay in this matter are inexcusable.

Former service men are making
good in practically every line of en
deavor in the county. Doctors,
bankers, merchants, dairymen, log
gers and students ere to be found on
the roster of Tillamook Post and
each is doing his bit toward mak-
ing the county a bigger and better
place to live.

The American Legion, which was
quick to offer its aid to the police at
the height of the crime wave, is now
establishing employment ac'ncies
and aiding ex-service men during the
prsent low tide of industry. A na
tional survey of employment is being
made by the American Legion Week
ly and all posts have ben encouraged
to establish employment agencies by

The present system of immigra
tion was condemned by members of
the Braxton County Post of the Am
erican Legion at Sutton, Va., in a
vote following discussion of the prob
lem. Forty-nine per cent of the
vote was for stopping immigration
entirely; seven per cent for forbid
ding It for 2 or 3 years, and for
ty per cent for establishing ; an ef
fective system of regulation, There
were no votes in support of the pre-
vailing system.

What does your telephone service mean to you?
In the successful operation of your business is your
telephone necessary.
Does the telephone in your residence prove more than a
convenience and perform an important part in the manage
ment of your affairs?
In fact, don’t you find good telephone service essen
tial in both your office and home?
The Telephone Company believes you do and wants to
supply that service to you.
Telephone properties are now operated at a loss in the
State of Oregon.
Increased rates are necessary to continue present ser
vice and attract capital for building new plants needed.
Can investors be expected to furnish funds forextensions
when the present plant does not pay its way?
Is not the Telephone Company entitled to rates which
will enable them to continue to furnish good telephone ser
vice to the people of Oregon, and without which they cannot
carry out their plans for development?
These are questions of importance and should interest
every telephone user.
