    TILLAMOOK HEADLIGHT MAY A, 1920.
Odd Fellows Newi
------ o
About 20 of the live ones made
the trip to Cloverdale last Saturday
night, and report another enthusiast
ic meeting, as this was the Second
Degree team. You may know the
candidates there were thouroughly
instructed in the mysteries of the
Second Degree, and if they pratice
the lessons they received, we know
they will make better men and better
citizens. Better plan to go along
next time and get more out of Odd
Fellowship. Then get busy and
practice it. The more you practice
the principles of the order, the less
knocking and dissatisfaction you will
see, and the lodge will grow as you
would have it.
Grand Lodge, May 26. You Dele
gates, have you made application for
rooms and board at Baker? If not,
better get busy. Rooms and accom
odations in Baker, like 1 illamook.
are scarce. Better see that your
names are in the entertainment com
mittee’s hands at once.
Bro. J. A. Bailey, with the J. C.
Penney Co. store, and who received
the second and third degree here,
says he intends making Tillamook
his permanent home, and although
a single man has rented apartments
at the Shaw, where he now holds
forth. He has made application for
transferring his membership from
Oregon City Lodge to Tillamook,
Sounds like two new members for
the Rebekah Lodge, Let the good
work go on.
Think Endowment, work for the
Endowment, pay your share of the
Endowment, then get It out of your j
system, so you can forget it. Remem
ber your pledge to care for the wid- ,
ows and orphans.
Have you solicited any applicat- !
ions for membership?
Again we must call the attentions
of the members to the Endowment
fund, which Is coming in far to slow.
Bro. Chas. Bennett has been appoint
ed a special Committee to collect the
balance of the amount at once, as
Grand Lodge meets May 26 and the
full amount should be in the hands
of the committee not later than May
20th. Can it be done? Ask Charley
Bennett. Will you do your part? j
Of course, you will, so now accept
the thanks of the Aged Odd Fellows,
their widows and orphans, who are
now living in this Home.
Light attendance, only 25 mem
bers, and two visitors at Lodge last
meeting night.
A banquet give by
the Tillamook Merchants Credit As
sociation.
Lowell Moulton was Iniatiated in
to the Lodge Tuesday evening, and I
several candidates are ready for next
Tuesday, when the Iniatory degree
will be conferred, thus making a
good sized class for the First degree
on May 18th.
Bro. Peter Schranz reported im
proving and J. C. Holden again at
work.
Chas. Bennett is a busy Bro. these
days, so do not detain him for ex-
plainations when he calls on you,
give him the 45.00 for the Endow
ment, thus relieving your lodge of
the $300.00 yearly Grand Lodge As
sessments, get your name on the
honor roll and help Tillamook put |
her over the top.
One more application last meeting
for Iniatiatlon, and two for Transfers
from Oregon City and McMinnville.
Lodge meets every Tuesday at 8
o’clock. Something extra next meet
ing, better Come.
