Commercial Club Meets
The regular meeting of the Tillamook
Commercial Club was held Monday,
July 22, Pres. Shrode presiding.
The minutes of the previous meeting
were read and approved. Report of
Secretary read and ordered adopted.
The committee on raising publicity
funds reported that the plan is progress
ing and that active solicitation would
be commenced in the near future.
The committee on the establishment
of a model dairy farm reported that it
had corresponded with Dr. Withycombe
of the State Experiment Station, and
had beer, informed that unless the
funds for the purpose were provided by
the county or community the State de
partments could not assist in the move
ment; that to get State aid would
require an act of the legislature. The
committee waa instructed to consult
with the dairy interests with a view of
securing legislation on the subject.
The committee on the establishment
of a life saving station at Garibaldi
reported that it had taken the matter
up with the commercial clubs and ship
ping interests of the county in an effort
to raise the money necessary to procure
the site, but that the response had not
been very enthusiastic. Committee
was instructed to act further in the
matter, taking it up with the repre
sentatives in Congress if satisfactory
arrangements cannot be made locally.

commercial clubs of the county be in
vited to meet with this organisation
with a view toward organising a county
association. Motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that the
County Court be included in the invita
tion. Carried. It was moved and sec
onded that the President and Directors,
or the owner of each cheese factory in
the county, be also asked to attend.

day, Aug. 8, was set for the date of
meeting.
