D ear S ir . — We have been informed
that there is a movement on foot by
those interested in the country tribu
tary to Tillamook Bay to ask the govern
ment to establish a project to deveh pe
and improve the Bay, so ae to aid iu
1 furnishing that section with navigation
by water.
We know that-there is a vast amount
of limber tributary to the bay which
would be shipped from that port, could
vessels of deeper tonnage reach the
wharves, and we think it is time fur the
government to do something to aid
these people.
We would therefore
heartily recommend the project and ask
tor your c< -op* ration in obtaining the
name. If our memory serves us right,
considerable w’ork was done years ago
at thia point with favorable result», and
we think it would not require a large
amount of money to deepen the bar
there very materially.
liiHiiKing you in anticipation for
jour help and aid in this matter, I beg
to remain.
Very truly yours,
